CVSS v3.1
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Openswan versions prior to 2.6.50.1
Description
The issue concerns the RSA implementation in the verify signed hash() function, which fails to verify the padding string value during PKCS#1 v1.5 signature verification. This allows a remote attacker to forge signatures, particularly when small public exponents are used. The IKEv2 signature verification is affected when RAW RSA keys are used.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.6.50.1, update to version 2.6.50.1 or later to resolve the issue.
Fix
Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature
