CVE-2018-8122

CVSS v2.0

7.6

High

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Internet Explorer (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a remote code execution problem in the way the scripting engine handles objects in memory. This could allow an attacker to corrupt memory and execute arbitrary code, potentially taking control of an affected system if the current user has administrative rights. An attacker could exploit this by using a specially crafted web page or Microsoft Office document.
Recommendations For all affected versions of Internet Explorer, consider restricting access to potentially vulnerable scripting engine components until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using Internet Explorer to open untrusted web pages or documents until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
