Description
The issue involves the
IOHIDFamily component and allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted app. It is caused by a buffer overflow in memory. Exploitation of the issue may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges or cause a denial of service using a specially crafted application.Recommendations
For macOS versions prior to 10.13.5, update to version 10.13.5 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the
IOHIDFamily component to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
