CVE-2018-17669

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit Reader version 9.2.0.9297
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of the name property of a XFA object, resulting from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on it. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Foxit Reader version 9.2.0.9297, update to a version that fixes the issue with the XFA object's name property handling. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of XFA objects or restricting access to potentially malicious files and web pages until a patch is available.
