Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Foxit Reader version 9.2.0.9297
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of the
content property of a XFA object, resulting from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on it. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.Recommendations
For Foxit Reader version 9.2.0.9297, consider disabling the handling of XFA objects or restricting access to malicious pages and files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the
content property of XFA objects to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.RCE
