Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the JavaScript handler of Internet Explorer, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code using a specially crafted web page or document. This vulnerability can corrupt memory, enabling an attacker to gain the same user rights as the current user. If the current user has administrative rights, the attacker could take control of the affected system, install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Internet Explorer, consider disabling JavaScript handling until a patch is available.
For Microsoft Windows, restrict access to the VBScript engine to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
