Description
The issue arises from improper input validation in the software, allowing an attacker to craft input in an unexpected form. This can lead to unintended input being received by parts of the unit, potentially resulting in altered control flow, arbitrary control of a resource, or arbitrary code execution. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, enabling an attacker to gain access to resource management or execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Philips e-Alert Unit version R2.1 and prior, update to a version that properly validates input to prevent exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
