CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.38 and prior Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.20 and prior
Description A vulnerability in the MySQL Server component allows an attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server, leading to a denial of service. The vulnerability is considered easily exploitable.
Recommendations For versions 5.6.38 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.38 to resolve the issue. For versions 5.7.20 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.20 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
