VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Elasticsearch versions prior to 6.4.1 Elasticsearch versions prior to 5.6.12
Description The issue allows an authenticated Elasticsearch user to improperly view sensitive configuration information such as passwords, tokens, or usernames. This occurs when secrets are configured via the API and the Elasticsearch cluster/settings API is queried.
Recommendations For versions prior to 6.4.1, update to version 6.4.1 or later to resolve the issue. For versions prior to 5.6.12, update to version 5.6.12 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the cluster/settings API endpoint until a patch is available.
