Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Samsung SmartThings Hub STH-ETH-250 Firmware version 0.20.17
Description
A buffer overflow issue exists in the HTTP server of the Samsung SmartThings Hub, specifically in the /cameras/XXXX/clips handler. The strncpy function overflows a destination buffer of 52 bytes. This can be exploited by sending an HTTP request with an arbitrarily long
endTime value.Recommendations
For Samsung SmartThings Hub STH-ETH-250 Firmware version 0.20.17, avoid using the /cameras/XXXX/clips handler until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to this handler to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
