Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Samsung SmartThings Hub STH-ETH-250 version 0.20.17
Description
A stack-based buffer overflow issue exists in the video-core HTTP server due to the retrieval of database fields. Specifically, the
strcpy call overflows a destination buffer of 64 bytes. An attacker can exploit this by sending an arbitrarily long value for the "bucket" parameter.Recommendations
For version 0.20.17, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the video-core HTTP server until a patch is available. Avoid using excessively long values for the
bucket parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
