CVE-2018-3925

CVSS v3.1

9.9

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Samsung SmartThings Hub STH-ETH-250 version 0.20.17
Description A buffer overflow issue exists in the remote video-host communication of the video-core's HTTP server. The video-core process insecurely parses the AWSELB cookie while communicating with remote video-host servers, leading to a buffer overflow on the heap. An attacker able to impersonate the remote HTTP servers could trigger this issue.
Recommendations For Samsung SmartThings Hub STH-ETH-250 version 0.20.17, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the video-core's HTTP server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the AWSELB cookie in communications with remote video-host servers until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
