Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit PDF Reader version 9.1.0.5096
Description A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the JavaScript engine of Foxit PDF Reader. This issue can be triggered by a specially crafted PDF document, allowing a previously freed object in memory to be reused and resulting in arbitrary code execution. An attacker must trick the user into opening the malicious file to exploit this issue. Additionally, if the browser plugin extension is enabled, visiting a malicious site can also trigger the vulnerability.
Recommendations For Foxit PDF Reader version 9.1.0.5096, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the browser plugin extension to minimize the risk of exploitation through malicious websites. Avoid opening suspicious or untrusted PDF documents until the issue is resolved.
