CVE-2018-8463

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Microsoft Edge (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to insufficient access restrictions in Microsoft Edge, allowing an attacker to elevate their privileges and escape the AppContainer sandbox. This could enable an attacker to gain elevated privileges, although it does not allow arbitrary code execution on its own. However, it could be used in combination with other vulnerabilities, such as remote code execution or another elevation of privilege vulnerability, to exploit the elevated privileges.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
