CVE-2018-5381

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Quagga versions prior to 1.2.3
Description The issue is related to a bug in the parsing of "Capabilities" in BGP OPEN messages. Specifically, the bgp packet.c:bgp capability msg parse function can enter an infinite loop on invalid capabilities if a Multi-Protocol capability does not have a recognized AFI/SAFI, causing a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.2.3, update to version 1.2.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the bgp capability msg parse function until a patch is available.
