CVE-2018-5504

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions F5 BIG-IP versions 12.1.0 through 12.1.3.1 F5 BIG-IP versions 13.0.0 through 13.1.0.3
Description The issue arises from the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) not properly handling certain malformed Websockets requests/responses. This can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) or possibly achieve remote code execution on the system.
Recommendations For F5 BIG-IP versions 12.1.0 through 12.1.3.1, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. For F5 BIG-IP versions 13.0.0 through 13.1.0.3, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to Websockets to minimize the risk of exploitation.
