CVE-2018-5816

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: LibRaw versions prior to 0.18.12
Description: The issue is caused by an integer overflow error within the identify() function in internal/dcraw common.cpp, which can be exploited to trigger a division by zero via specially crafted NOKIARAW files.
Recommendations: For versions prior to 0.18.12, update to version 0.18.12 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of specially crafted NOKIARAW files that could trigger the division by zero error. Restrict access to the identify() function in internal/dcraw common.cpp to minimize the risk of exploitation.
