CVE-2018-6182

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mahara versions 16.10 through 16.10.8 Mahara versions 17.04 through 17.04.6 Mahara versions 17.10 through 17.10.3
Description The issue arises when TinyMCE is bypassed by POST packages, allowing bad input to be processed. This occurs because Mahara relies solely on TinyMCE's code stripping, without additional server-side input cleaning in PHP. As a result, an attacker can create custom POST data packets containing malicious content to exploit the server.
Recommendations For Mahara versions 16.10 through 16.10.8, update to version 16.10.9 to resolve the issue. For Mahara versions 17.04 through 17.04.6, update to version 17.04.7 to resolve the issue. For Mahara versions 17.10 through 17.10.3, update to version 17.10.4 to resolve the issue.
