CVE-2018-12393

CVSS v2.0

7.6

High

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Firefox versions prior to 63 Firefox ESR versions prior to 60.3 Thunderbird versions prior to 60.3
Description: The issue is caused by an integer overflow during the conversion of scripts to an internal UTF-16 representation, which could result in allocating a buffer too small for the conversion. This leads to a possible out-of-bounds write. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.
Recommendations: For Firefox versions prior to 63, update to version 63 or later to resolve the issue. For Firefox ESR versions prior to 60.3, update to version 60.3 or later to resolve the issue. For Thunderbird versions prior to 60.3, update to version 60.3 or later to resolve the issue.
