| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
System Management Module (SMM) versions prior to 1.06
Description
The issue concerns weak default root credentials in the System Management Module (SMM). These credentials could potentially be used to log in to the device OS if an attacker successfully enables SSH or Telnet connections through another vulnerability.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 1.06, change the default root credentials to strong, unique passwords to prevent unauthorized access. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling SSH and Telnet connections until the issue is resolved. Restrict access to the device OS to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
Using Hardcoded Credentials
