Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions prior to the fixed version
Description
A possible permissions bypass due to a confused deputy in the AndroidManifest.xml file defining the SliceBroadcastReceiver handler for com.android.settings.slice.action.WIFI CHANGED could lead to local escalation of privilege. This allows a local attacker to change device settings without needing additional execution privileges. User interaction is not required for exploitation.
Recommendations
For Android versions prior to the fixed version, consider restricting access to the SliceBroadcastReceiver handler for com.android.settings.slice.action.WIFI CHANGED to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
