Description
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools component, specifically the Portal subcomponent. It allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools, requiring human interaction from a person other than the attacker. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' accessible data.
Recommendations
For version 8.55, update to a version that includes the necessary security patches to address the inadequate access control issue.
For version 8.56, apply the recommended security fixes to mitigate the risk of unauthorized access to PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' data.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
