CVE-2018-3185

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:M/C:N/I:P/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.7.23 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.12 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the InnoDB component of the MySQL Server. It allows a remote attacker with high privileges and network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized access to update, insert, or delete some of the MySQL Server's accessible data, as well as cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.7.23 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.23 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.12 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.12 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
