Description
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the RPC component of Oracle Solaris, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a partial denial of service using the Portmap v3 service. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service of Solaris.
Recommendations
For Oracle Solaris version 10, consider restricting access to the Portmap v3 service to minimize the risk of exploitation.
For Oracle Solaris version 11.4, consider disabling the RPC component temporarily until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, restrict network access via Portmap v3 to prevent unauthorized attacks.
