CVE-2018-3253

CVSS v3.1

8.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle Virtual Directory versions 11.1.1.7.0 through 11.1.1.9.0
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the Virtual Directory Manager component of Oracle Virtual Directory, allowing a low-privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise the system. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized access to some Oracle Virtual Directory data, including update, insert, or delete access, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of the data. Additionally, it can cause a partial denial of service of Oracle Virtual Directory.
Recommendations For versions 11.1.1.7.0 and 11.1.1.9.0, consider restricting access to the Virtual Directory Manager component until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of HTTP protocol to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
