CVE-2018-3282

CVSS v2.0

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:M/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL versions 5.5.61 and prior Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.41 and prior Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.23 and prior Oracle MySQL versions 8.0.12 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Server: Storage Engines subcomponent. It allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For Oracle MySQL version 5.5.61 and prior, update to a version later than 5.5.61. For Oracle MySQL version 5.6.41 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.41. For Oracle MySQL version 5.7.23 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.23. For Oracle MySQL version 8.0.12 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.12. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
