CVE-2018-18349

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 71.0.3578.80
Description The issue is related to incorrect remote frame navigation in Blink, allowing an attacker to access files on the local file system. This can be achieved by convincing a user to install a malicious extension, which can then be used to access local files.
Recommendations For versions prior to 71.0.3578.80, update to version 71.0.3578.80 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the installation of extensions from untrusted sources and restricting access to local resources until the update is applied.
