Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a memory leak in the Linux kernel's implementation of the if usb probe handler in the libertas tf usb.ko module. An attacker can exploit this by connecting a Marvell Libertas WLAN Thinfirm device with a wMaxPacketSize descriptor set to 0x0, causing the if usb probe function in if usb.c to allocate memory to cardp. However, when wMaxPacketSize is zero, the function jumps to the dealloc error label without freeing the allocated memory in cardp, potentially leading to a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
