Description The issue is related to errors in processing Precision Time Protocol (PTP) packets in the Cisco IOS operating system. An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this by sending custom PTP packets to, or through, an affected device, potentially causing a denial of service (DoS) condition for the PTP subsystem. This could result in time synchronization issues across the network.
