CVE-2018-2787

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:P/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.6.39 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.21 and prior
Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the InnoDB component of MySQL Server, allowing a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized access to update, insert, or delete data, as well as cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server, leading to a complete denial of service.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.6.39 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.39 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 5.7.21 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.21 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the InnoDB component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
