CVE-2017-12081

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Blender version 2.78c
Description An integer overflow exists in the upgrade of a legacy Mesh attribute of the Blender open-source 3d creation suite. A specially crafted .blend file can cause an integer overflow resulting in a buffer overflow, which can allow for code execution under the context of the application. An attacker can convince a user to open the file or use it as a library in order to trigger this issue.
Recommendations For version 2.78c, consider avoiding the use of legacy Mesh attributes until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, refrain from opening untrusted .blend files or using them as libraries to minimize the risk of exploitation.
