CVE-2018-12370

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Firefox versions prior to 61
Description The issue is related to the Reader View function in Firefox, where SameSite cookie protections are not checked when exiting Reader View. This allows a malicious site to trigger a payload when Reader View is exited, bypassing CSRF protections. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For versions prior to 61, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling Reader View until a patch is available. Restrict access to potentially malicious sites while using Reader View to minimize the risk of exploitation.
