CVE-2018-6142

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 67.0.3396.62
Description The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the V8 component of Google Chrome, allowing a remote attacker to read protected information using a specially crafted PDF file. This is due to an array bounds check failure, which enables the attacker to perform an out-of-bounds memory read.
Recommendations For versions prior to 67.0.3396.62, update to version 67.0.3396.62 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of crafted PDF files that could trigger the out-of-bounds memory read until the update is applied.
