CVE-2018-6166

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:C/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 68.0.3440.75
Description The issue is related to the incorrect handling of confusable characters in the URL Formatter, allowing a remote attacker to perform domain spoofing via IDN homographs using a crafted domain name. This can lead to the spoofing of the Omnibox (URL) component.
Recommendations For versions prior to 68.0.3440.75, update to version 68.0.3440.75 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of IDN homographs in URLs to minimize the risk of exploitation.
