CVE-2018-6178

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 68.0.3440.75
Description The issue is related to errors in security settings in the DevTools component of Google Chrome, allowing an attacker to exploit it by convincing a user to install a malicious extension. This could enable the attacker to hide Chrome Security UI and potentially manipulate the user interface via a crafted Chrome Extension.
Recommendations For versions prior to 68.0.3440.75, update to version 68.0.3440.75 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to trusted sources and avoiding the use of unverified Chrome Extensions.
