CVE-2018-19540

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: JasPer versions 1.900.8 through 2.0.16
Description: The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the jas icctxtdesc input function of the JasPer library. This can allow an attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system. The overflow occurs in the libjasper/base/jas icc.c file.
Recommendations: For JasPer versions 1.900.8 through 2.0.16, consider disabling the jas icctxtdesc input function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the libjasper/base/jas icc.c file to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
