CVE-2018-17294

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Liblouis versions prior to 3.7
Description: The issue is related to the matchCurrentInput function inside lou translateString.c of Liblouis, which does not check the input string's length. This allows attackers to cause a denial of service by crafting an input file with certain translation dictionaries, leading to an application crash via out-of-bounds read.
Recommendations: For versions prior to 3.7, update to version 3.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the matchCurrentInput function until a patch is available.
