| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
JasPer versions 2.0.14
Description
The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference error in the
jp2 decode function, located in libjasper/jp2/jp2 dec.c, which can lead to a denial of service. This error can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a service disruption.Recommendations
For JasPer version 2.0.14, consider disabling the
jp2 decode function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the libjasper/jp2/jp2 dec.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
