CVE-2018-4300

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions CUPS versions prior to 2.2.10
Description The issue is related to the CUPS web interface, where the session cookie is easily guessable on Linux systems, allowing unauthorized scripted access when the web interface is enabled. This is due to a lack of protection for service data, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.2.10, update to version 2.2.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the CUPS web interface until a patch is available. Restrict access to the CUPS web interface to minimize the risk of exploitation.
