CVE-2018-7443

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick version 7.0.7-23 Q16
Description The issue is related to the ReadTIFFImage function in the coders/tiff.c component, which does not properly validate the amount of image data in a file. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically a memory allocation failure in the AcquireMagickMemory function.
Recommendations For ImageMagick version 7.0.7-23 Q16, consider disabling the ReadTIFFImage function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the coders/tiff.c component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
