CVE-2016-10590

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions cue-sdk-node versions (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue allows for a man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack due to the insecure download of zipped resources over HTTP. This could potentially lead to remote code execution (RCE) if an attacker swaps the requested zip file with a malicious one. The vulnerability can be exploited when an attacker has a privileged network position, enabling them to intercept and replace the executable with a malicious one, resulting in code execution on the system running cue-sdk-node.
Recommendations To mitigate the issue, avoid using the cue-sdk-node package if possible, and consider using a different package instead. As a temporary measure, reduce the risk of exploitation by avoiding the installation of this package while connected to a public network. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
