VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions dalek-browser-chrome (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue allows for a man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack due to the insecure download of binary resources over HTTP. This could potentially lead to remote code execution (RCE) if an attacker intercepts the response and replaces the executable with a malicious one. The risk of exploitation is heightened when connected to a public network or if an attacker has a privileged network position.
Recommendations To mitigate the issue, consider avoiding the use of dalek-browser-chrome and instead use a different package, such as TestCafé, if available. As a temporary measure, reduce the risk of exploitation by avoiding the installation of dalek-browser-chrome while connected to a public network. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
