CVE-2016-10655

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions clang-extra (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue concerns the clang-extra module's insecure download of binary resources over HTTP, making it susceptible to man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks. This could potentially lead to remote code execution (RCE) if an attacker intercepts and replaces the requested resources with malicious ones, particularly in scenarios where the attacker has a privileged network position.
Recommendations For all affected versions, the best mitigation option is to reduce the risk of exploitation by avoiding installation of the package while connected to a public network. If the package is installed on a private network, ensure that network security is maintained to prevent unauthorized access. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
