CVE-2016-10687

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions windows-selenium-chromedriver (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue allows for potential man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks due to the insecure download of binary resources over HTTP. This could lead to remote code execution (RCE) if an attacker intercepts the response and replaces the executable with a malicious one, particularly in scenarios where the attacker has a privileged network position.
Recommendations To mitigate the issue, consider avoiding the use of this package and opt for a different package if available. As a temporary measure, reduce the risk of exploitation by ensuring this package is not installed while connected to a public network. If the package is installed on a private network, minimize the risk by restricting access to trusted individuals, as only those who have compromised the network or have privileged access to the ISP can exploit this vulnerability. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
