CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions keycloak versions prior to 3.4.2
Description A flaw was discovered that allows an attacker to misuse a client-side /etc/hosts entry to spoof a URL in a password reset request. This could lead to an attacker crafting a malicious password reset request, gaining a valid reset token, and potentially resulting in information disclosure or further attacks.
Recommendations For versions prior to 3.4.2, update to version 3.4.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to password reset functionality until the update is applied.
