CVE-2017-1268
CVSS v3.1
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
IBM Security Guardium versions 10 through 10.5
Description:
The software uses a one-way cryptographic hash against an input, such as a
password, but it does not use a salt as part of the input, which is a security best practice to prevent reversibility.Recommendations:
For IBM Security Guardium versions 10 through 10.5, consider implementing an additional security measure, such as using a
salt value in conjunction with the one-way cryptographic hash function to enhance password security. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
