| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Insteon Hub version 1012
Description:
A buffer overflow issue exists due to the incorrect handling of the
host parameter by the HTTP server implementation during a firmware update request. This leads to a buffer overflow on a global section. An attacker can trigger this issue by sending an HTTP GET request to the vulnerable endpoint.Recommendations:
For Insteon Hub version 1012, consider restricting access to the firmware update request endpoint until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the
host parameter in the affected HTTP GET request until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
