CVE-2017-15692
CVSS v3.1
9.8
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Apache Geode versions prior to 1.4.0
Description:
The issue allows for potential remote code execution if an unprivileged user gains access to the Geode locator and certain classes are present on the classpath. This is due to the TcpServer within the Geode locator deserializing data over a network port.
Recommendations:
For Apache Geode versions prior to 1.4.0, update to version 1.4.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Geode locator to prevent unprivileged users from gaining access.
Fix
Deserialization of Untrusted Data
