Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:

Firefox OS for MSM versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05
QRD Android versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05
Description:
The issue arises when the camera application triggers a "user-memory-access" problem. This occurs because the Camera CPP module Linux driver directly accesses the application-provided buffer, which is located in user space. Specifically, an unchecked userspace value (
ioctl ptr->len) is used to copy contents to a kernel buffer, potentially leading to a kernel buffer overflow.Recommendations:
For Qualcomm Android for MSM versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05, update to a version with a security patch level of 2018-04-05 or later.
