VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: brace-expansion versions prior to 1.1.7
Description: The issue concerns a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) condition. It can be triggered by an expand argument containing many comma characters. There is a proof of concept demonstrating the vulnerability using the expand function from the brace-expansion module with an argument containing numerous comma characters.
Recommendations: Update to version 1.1.7 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the expand function with arguments containing many comma characters until a patch is available.
